Goal 3: Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to critically evaluate and utilize contemporary science standards and curriculum materials for science education.
As an educator you have to develop a sharp eye. Over the course of the semester I have been challenged to develop my sharp eye. When pulling in and utilizing resources I had to evaluate them and make sure that they included the key components to an effective science lesson. Also, throughout the semester I had to develop an understanding of how to break apart the standards. Using the curriculum map I was able to find the standards and utilize the essential questions they provided and use it as a tool. This semester I have developed my critical eye and learned how to break apart the standards and develop effective learning cycles. The two artifacts supporting this goal are evidence of the development of my critical eye and my knowledge on how to break apart standards to develop effective learning cycles.
